Introducing the myME Box
A digital learning platform providing access to education--regardless of internet access--
to the most remote regions in the most dire times.
The myME BOX is a practical, low-cost, easy to install and use solution to the education crisis in Burma (Myanmar), a country where schools have been closed for over 2 years due to a severe humanitarian crisis. The Portable Digital Classroom (PDC) with myME Box is designed for out-of-school children and youth (OOSCYs.). It's available online or offline. It provides myME established curriculum as well as additional non-formal education content on an open-source platform, available to all children and communities throughout Myanmar. It's a blended learning approach that provides basic literacy, numeracy as well as practical digital and life skills training and can be used on it's own for self-learning, or with a virtual or in-person (face-to-face) teacher.

Today, all levels of schools from kindergarten to university are closed in Myanmar
Less than 10% of households can provide online learning to their children. On 2/1/2021, the military seized power from the civilian-elected government just as Myanmar faced intensifying challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the UNDP & World Bank 2021, Myanmar's GDP could contract by 18%, the number of people living in poverty could double and the number of OOSCYS has increased dramatically.
MyME's remote learning system works with or without internet access
The myME BOX contains a mini-computer housing a learning management system (LMS), eBooks, video lessons and assessments, life-skills stories, educational games, teacher reference and general knowledge content based on myME's education curriculum and other open-sourced sites (Khan Academy, UNICEF, Asia Foundation, TED and TEDed, Room to Read, Third Story Project, etc.)
LONG TERM IMPACT
Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in Southeast Asia. Sending children to work is an undesired necessity for many families. Our innovative and human-centered design approach allows OOSCYs to access quality education through through the myME Box digital learning platform. They learn math, computer, literacy and vocational skills as well as build self-esteem, empowering them to hope and dream for a better future -- one where they realize their potential -- as is the right of every child.
